Somehow, these few days, I feel as though another arc of my life has ended, and has thus started anew. Today in particular. It's almost like I could just stop thinking about the problems, and focus on what is to be done, things that can be enjoyed; spending quality time with self and with people whom I've not taken the initiative to spend time with for the past year or so.
This has started off as an emo post, but not to worry, there will be food to come, just... not yet. Received a surprisingly comforting email from EM, whom I've only met for what, 3-4 months, and feels like relative to me already. A message from my dear sister, and a night out with my brother. Finally watched "Ip Man II"- it was good. I was clenching my jaws most of the time because it was -that- exciting. No spoilers here, just go watch it =) There was a scene that resembled a scene from the Sherlock Holmes movie, which was another good one to watch.
So I guess overall, things are almost back to being "artificially normal"- a term I've come to use fairly often after doing my first essay, where they say autistic people are "trained" (read: conditioned) to live superficially normal lives in order to fit in. Indulged in a little retail therapy and got a new scarf- I dropped one of mine some nights ago while walking on a street =( ; had food therapy too- tried a new restaurant, which was awesome because it had xlb!! XD Music therapy- check! =)
Onward to food! It's almost a whole week ago that I visited this cute little cafe with my brother after church.

It's called "MarioTokyo" in Strathfield, right next to the Gelatissimo- easily missed. Very cute interior design, with pictures of Tokyo as a Godzilla-dino kind of creature, and Mario as this little boy who "likes to go treasure hunting, but papa and mama mario do not appreciate the holes dug up in their backyard"... was just something random that was written on the wall, along with other cute mini-stories.

They even had interesting lights!
From Week 20, 2010 |
It's a woodfire pizza place, so they do takeaway pizzas too.
From Week 20, 2010 |
We went there fairly early, so it was still breakfast menu.
From Week 20, 2010 |
We had another menu with a wider selection, but these three are the main breakfast items, and it comes with coffee too! I chose 1, icie chose 3.

My FW and my brother's Cap. There was a special going on (as it was Mother's Day) that all mothers get free coffee that day.
From Week 20, 2010 |
There's the cave into which our pizzas go in to form and grow.

And out it comes!
From Week 20, 2010 |
Breakfast pizza ready to be eaten! The egg came from the kitchen, and we saw this chef balancing a fried egg, sunny side up, on a spatula to be placed right in the centre of the pizza that came from the oven.
From Week 20, 2010 |
Egg like that is good. I used to dislike eggs because I've only had them hard-boiled in the past...

My gigantic serving of breakfast!
From Week 20, 2010 |
It was absolutely huge, it was an effort just to finish half of it! By the time my brother was down to his last piece of pizza, I was only just finishing off half of mine, and we just decided to swap, so I got half a slice of pizza, and he got the other half of this. Never underestimate cheese. Especially cheese that oozes out like this.
It was a really nice cafe to just sit and eat. A place that sells coffee is almost a sure sign sure that you won't get hurried out of the place to make room for other customers- coffee is to be appreciated slowly for its flavour, and is great to sip at while chatting with a friend. I wouldn't mind going back to this cute place again... I'll make sure to sit next to the wall so I can read it =)

Then because it was Mother's Day, we went hunting for a cake at Hello! Happy.
From Week 20, 2010 |
So many to choose from!
From Week 20, 2010 |
This is what we got in the end =)
From Week 20, 2010 |
As seen in the previous entry, it was a strawberry mousse cake!
What happened after that night of Mother's Day... was just a nightmare, but as with everything else, life goes on.
